1938 Mercedes-Benz 170V

• the cream paint is dull, cracked and peeling in places with rust spots at the fender and door bottoms, so paint and rust repair money is unavoidable
• the chrome grille shell and bumpers are tarnished and lightly pitted, so budget for chrome work with the paint bill
• the red seats are dark-stained, cracked and torn at the edge, so a full retrim is certain money
• the dash has a gaping empty centre section where instruments should be, so sourcing and fitting dash parts is real money and real hunting
• the grey soft top looks worn and baggy with a small rear window, so budget for a new top
• the engine bay is filthy and corroded with aged wiring and hoses, so recommissioning money comes before anything cosmetic
• can't judge the underside — it is not shown in the sampled photos, and with rust already visible on top, that unknown could carry the biggest bill of all

Money: at $69,500, with only 5 photos in the gallery, this is a full restoration at a strong price — the visible paint, seats, dash and bay all need money, and the unseen underside is still unpriced.
