About this car
1961 190SL at Performance Auto Gallery in Rockville, MD. Highly original single-family survivor, 45k actual miles, original paint except hood/decklid re-clear, original invoice/documents, fresh fuel-system service. The dealer publishes no price for this car, so the number has to come from a call. Harvested from the dealer's own website on Nov 2, 2026 — confirm availability at the source before travelling.
What the photos show
- black paint is deep gloss and the chrome is excellent, it shows like a fresh restoration, no paint money needed on the surface
- one close-up shows reddish-brown rust staining bleeding through the black paint along the hood edge, budget rust repair and paint blending there before it spreads
- red leather seats and dash look excellent, no retrim needed
- black soft top is shown up and fits tight, no top replacement in sight
- twin-Solex engine bay is clean and original-looking, no detailing bill needed to present it
- the door-shut shot shows clean sills, a good sign on a model that rots from the sills out
- factory books are with the car, the owner's manual, parts catalog and Becker paperwork are all photographed, nothing to buy back
- can't judge the underside, no underbody shots in the sample
Money: no price is published; it presents as a top-tier restored 190SL, so price it against restored cars, minus the hood-edge rust repair the one close-up gives away.
