About this car
This 1976 S-Class is offered on eBay by wjust_588 in Stamford, CT. It is listed at auction: the current bid stood at $1,000 when the listing was collected on November 3, 2026, with bidding scheduled to end on November 10, 2026. The car is finished in Blue over Blue, an automatic gearbox. The odometer shows 43,372 miles. The seller does not state the model; the 4.5-litre V8 and the sedan body identify a W116 S-Class (a 450SE or 450SEL), but the listing gives no way to tell which. On a W116, rust in the sills, floor edges and around the front and rear screens is the main concern.
What the photos show
- the trunk badge reads 450SEL, so the car in the photos is a 450SEL even though the title only says S-Class
- navy blue paint looks deep and glossy from every angle, no paint money needed
- blue velour seats front and rear look almost unworn, no reupholster money at all
- dash wood looks rich and the dash top uncracked, no dash money needed
- chrome grille and bumpers look bright and straight, no rechrome bill
- odometer shows 43,740 miles in two close-ups, low miles to verify against records
- Connecticut plate 43521 is on the car front and rear, one consistent car through the gallery
- can't judge the engine bay, no engine photo in the gallery
- can't judge the underside, no underside photo in the gallery
Money: at $1,000 the glossy navy paint and near-new velour interior look worth many times the price, so check the listing is real and current before anything else
