About this car
1981 380SL at David's Classic Cars in Marion, IL. The dealer publishes no price for this car, so the number has to come from a call. Harvested from the dealer's own website on Nov 2, 2026 — confirm availability at the source before travelling.
What the photos show
- the one full-size photo shows a red SL side profile in the desert with the black soft top up, and the car looks straight and complete, so no obvious body repair shows
- red paint looks glossy and even along the side, so no respray is obviously needed from this angle
- the black soft top looks taut and fitted, so no immediate top replacement shows
- one small gallery image is just the same desert photo of this car repeated, and the other viewable thumbnails are a black SL and a silver SL, which are different cars
- can't judge the seats, interior or dash, none are shown, so retrim and dash money are still possible
- can't judge the chrome close up, the engine bay or the underside, none are shown, so mechanical and rust money are unproven
Money: no asking price is listed, and the evidence is a single side view plus a repeat of it, so get interior, bay and underside photos before putting a value on it.
