1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SL

• Silver-blue paint looks glossy, straight and even from every angle with no obvious dents or rust on the body, no repaint bill visible
• Chrome trim, bumpers and alloy wheels look clean and bright, no obvious damage to pay to fix here
• Navy leather seats look very good with only light creasing on the drivers seat, no need to reupholster
• Dash looks uncracked, wood trim looks glossy and carpets look clean, so no interior restoration spend is visible
• Navy soft top looks taut and clean when raised with a clear rear window, no need to budget for a new top on what is shown
• Engine bay looks clean and tidy with no obvious corrosion or mess, so no engine-bay detailing bill is obvious
• Trunk looks clean and dry with tidy blue carpet, no obvious water damage to pay to sort there
• Underside is weaker than the top side: the lift photos show brown surface rust and worn coating streaked across the floor pans, so budget for underside treatment and re-coating

Money: At $37,000 sold, the body, interior, top and engine bay all look like a dearer car, but the rust-streaked floor pans underneath are the visible spend that kept the price here.
