What the photos show
- Only one photo is in the gallery, a front three-quarter in a showroom, so most areas cannot be checked from photos alone, budget for an in-person inspection
- Grey metallic paint looks glossy and straight in this light with no obvious dents or rust showing, no repaint bill visible from this angle alone
- Chrome side trim and bumpers look clean and straight, no obvious pitting or damage to pay to fix here
- Black interior is only glimpsed through the open top and looks tidy from a distance, but seat wear and cracks cannot be judged close up
- The convertible top is down and its fabric is not shown, so its condition and replacement cost cannot be judged from this photo
- Dash, engine bay and underside are not shown at all, so none of those costs can be judged from this single photo
Money: At $40,900 sold, this one photo shows a tidy-looking grey 450SL, but the price rested on inspection because interior, engine and underside are unproven here.
