What the photos show
- bright red paint looks glossy and even in this single front view, no repaint obvious from here
- chrome grille and wheel covers look bright, no re-chroming obvious from here
- the soft top is down, so you cannot judge the top fabric or rear window and a new top would cost real money
- tan interior is only glimpsed, so you cannot judge the seats properly
- dash is not shown close up, so you cannot judge the wood or dash cracks
- engine bay is not shown, so you cannot judge the engine at all
- underside is not shown, so you cannot judge rust or leaks
Money: at the $26,300 sold price the one photo shows a sharp red 450SL with tan trim, but the top, interior wear, engine and underside were all unseen, so the price rested on trust.
