About this car
Hemmings listing in College Point, NY. 380SL in Lapis Blue over blue; 91,440 miles; restored, redone seats; California car most of its life.
What the photos show
- dark blue paint looks glossy and the chrome is bright, no paint or chrome money needed
- grey leather seats look intact and clean, no reupholstery money needed
- footwell and rear carpets are dirty and stained, budget a proper interior detail
- the navy soft top is torn at the side seam and its plastic windows are cloudy and yellowed, a new top is real money
- trunk carpet is heavily stained though no rust shows there, so cleaning money rather than panel money
- underside on the lift looks clean, dry and black-coated with no rust-through, no underside repair money obvious
- two of the sampled photos are the dealer's 'we buy' adverts, not this car, so the gallery is padded
- can't judge the engine bay - no engine photo in the sampled set, so engine money is a guess until you see under the hood
Money: at $7,950 the clean underside and good leather help, but a replacement soft top eats the bargain - fair only with the top priced in.
