What the photos show
- champagne paint looks glossy and straight in the showroom photos and the rear badge reads 420 SEL, no repaint needed from what is shown
- chrome grille and trim look bright, no chrome work needed
- burgundy leather seats front and rear look excellent and untorn, no need to reupholster
- dash and wood look intact, with a phone mount and a cupholder console added, budget removing them if you want it original
- engine bay looks tidy and complete, though the coolant tank is heavily yellowed, budget a cooling-system check
- trunk carpet in burgundy looks clean and dry, no trunk work visible
- underside is not shown in the sampled photos, so rust underneath can't be judged
Money: at $10,900 the glossy paint and excellent burgundy interior make this look like good value for a 420SEL, with the unseen underside the main unknown.
