About this car
Hemmings listing in Hollywood, FL. 280SL in Champagne over beige; exceptionally rare factory 5-speed manual; brown soft top and matching hardtop.
What the photos show
- Champagne gold paint looks glossy and straight, no repaint needed on what is shown.
- Euro headlights and slim chrome bumpers look clean, no trim bill is visible.
- Tan leather seats look clean with light wear, no need to reupholster.
- Dash looks tidy, but the steering wheel is an aftermarket wood wheel, so budget a stock wheel if originality matters.
- Black soft top is shown up and looks taut with a hazy rear window, so budget a window polish.
- No hardtop is shown in the sampled photos, so I can't judge whether one is included.
- Six-cylinder engine bay looks presentable and complete, no obvious detail spend beyond fluids.
- No underside is shown in the sampled photos, so I can't judge rust underneath — get lift photos.
Money: At $24,000 this gold 280SL presents like its red stablemate from the same seller, and the ask looks fair if the unseen underside matches the top side.
