About this car
Hemmings listing in Lake Bluff, IL — a 1987 560SL offered through Hemmings classifieds. The harvest captured no condition description for this car, so judge it from the full photo gallery on its Hemmings page and verify specification, condition, and history with the seller before travelling.
What the photos show
- cream paint is glossy and the body looks straight, no paint bill showing
- chrome bumpers and trim are bright, no re-chrome money needed
- tan seats look good overall, but the driver's seat base is cracked and splitting, a re-cover or repair is a real bill
- passenger seat and door cards look clean and unmarked, no money needed there
- dash top is uncracked and the wood is glossy, no dash bill
- black soft top fits well and looks sound, and the hardtop is shown fitted and clean, no top money obvious
- the first four sampled photos would not load, so part of the gallery can't be judged
- the engine bay is not shown in the viewed photos, so the engine bay can't be judged
- no underside photo is in the viewed set, so the underside can't be judged
Money: no price is listed, and the one clear fault in the photos is the split driver's seat base, so price it as a good 560SL with an upholstery bill, and get engine and underside photos before committing.
