What the photos show
- The photos carry a dealer stock-number watermark and show a beige 280SL that looks straight and glossy, no paintwork needed.
- Brown soft top looks new, fits taut, and the rear window is clear, no top spend.
- Brown leather and dash look clean with light wear, no retrim needed.
- Chrome and hubcaps are bright all around, nothing to replate.
- Engine bay is complete and honest, just dusty in spots, detailing money only.
- The underside shot shows surface rust across the floor pans, so an in-person rust check is money well spent before paying the ask.
- Half the sampled photos are old service invoices going back to the 1980s, including an engine overhaul and a 1995 dealer invoice showing the car's VIN, so the history file is real.
Money: at $125,000 the cosmetics justify strong money, but the floor-pan surface rust in the photos and the wear items those invoices flag mean the last word belongs to a lift inspection, not the shine.
