1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL

• Beige-gold paint looks glossy and straight, no repaint needed.
• Chrome trim and bumpers are bright, no re-chroming bill.
• Cognac seats look clean and lightly used, no need to reupholster.
• The matching hardtop is glossy and clean, so no hardtop work to fund.
• The car sits on later-style alloy wheels in most photos, so originality hunters should budget for correct wheels if that matters.
• The trunk mat shows rust-colored staining and dirt, a clean-up job rather than proof of rot, but worth a closer look.
• Can't judge the soft top, it is never shown raised.
• Can't judge the dash closely, no clear dash close-up is sampled.
• Can't judge the engine bay closely, the hood is only seen open from a distance.
• Can't judge the underside, no underbody photos are shown.

Money: at $99,900 the paint, hardtop and leather look strong, but the stained trunk mat and several unseen areas mean some verification money should stay in your pocket.
