About this car
This 1976 280 is offered on eBay by ami_albe in Granby, CT. The asking price is $7,500. The car is finished in Brown. The odometer shows 92,000 miles. On a Stroke Eight, rust in the sills, jacking points and floor pans is the usual concern.
What the photos show
- brown paint looks glossy and straight in the photos, no repaint money needed on looks
- chrome bumpers and grille look bright and complete, no chrome money needed
- there is a rust hole right through the front inner wing area by the engine bay, and that is structural welding money, not cosmetics
- the glossy top side hides that rust, so the repair bill is the real price of this car
- can't judge the seats and interior trim in detail - no clear interior close-up in the sampled set, so reupholstery money is unproven
- can't judge the full underside - only the holed front section is shown, so the rest of the floor money is unknown
Money: at $7,500 the shine is real but so is the hole in the front structure - welding money makes this a project buy, not a driver at this price.
