About this car
This 1968 280SL is offered on eBay by sanfersportscars in Miami, FL. The asking price is $89,800. The car is finished in Black over Black, an automatic gearbox. The odometer shows 10,350 miles. As with any Pagoda, the floors, sills and spare-wheel well deserve a close look for rust, and the soft-top frame and hardtop seals are worth checking.
What the photos show
- all 12 photos are exterior and trunk only — a mirror-gloss black Pagoda from every side, paint money clearly already spent
- the chrome, including the wheel-arch trims and bumpers, is bright and straight in close-ups, no rechroming needed
- the thin whitewall tires and painted hubcaps look fresh, no wheel-and-tire spend
- the trunk is carpeted and tidy with a covered spare and a car-care kit bag, no trunk work on sight
- can't judge the seats or interior — not one cabin photo in the gallery, so trim condition is unpriced
- can't judge the dash — no dash photo at all
- can't judge the engine bay — no under-hood photo, so mechanical presentation is unknown
- can't judge the soft top or underside — the top is never shown up and there is no underneath shot
Money: at $89,800 the black paint and chrome in these photos look superb, but with interior, top, engine and underside all unphotographed, show-car money needs an in-person inspection first.
